The Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Plate Joiner (model XJP03Z, tool only) offers portability and performance, both in the workshop and in the field – without the need for a cord. It combines power and precision with user-friendly features, making it ideal for creating strong and accurate biscuit joints in furniture making, cabinet construction, and fine woodworking applications. Makita has incorporated Star Protection Computer Controls to enhance tool performance and prolong battery life. This communication technology enables the tool and battery to exchange real-time data, monitoring usage conditions to prevent overloading, over-discharging, and overheating. The tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.

The XJP03Z can deliver up to 320 cuts or 160 joints on a single charge (18V LXT 3.0Ah battery, sold separately). It is equipped with a rack-and-pinion vertical fence system designed for precise fence adjustments, and a cast aluminum pivot fence with three positive stops at 0 degrees, 45 degrees, and 90 degrees. The 4-inch blade diameter and six depth settings with one-touch stops cater to the most common biscuit sizes including #0, #10, and #20. The large and easy-to-operate cam locks facilitate fence adjustments.
